Camera-less and weekend thoughts

I've been thinking for quite some time now about getting a DSLR camera.  After saving my pennies, selling half my possessions (including our point-and-shoot), and the SURPRISING joy of learning we're actually getting a tax return this year for the first time ever (THANK YOU ADDIE!!!), the day is close approaching when I'll have my brand new camera in my unskilled and untrained little photography hands.  I cannot wait!

But for now, I'm camera-less.  What this means is: 1) I call my dad every other day and ask to borrow theirs, 2) my phone (NOT a smartphone) is considerably slower due to the fact that I've used it to take about 8923987234 pictures in the last month, and 3) I follow Addison around with my Macbook, PhotoBooth open, and awkwardly angling the screen toward her in hopes of catching that adorable moment.

Not the best photos or lighting, but we had fun today with option 3.  (PS - like our paint sample smeared on the wall in the background?)

Other thoughts for today:

- Addison has learned to pinch, and hard.  It's always in good fun, but watch out!

- That was the best winter ever to have a baby.  We weren't stuck in the house one single day.  And now summer's here!  I mean spring!

- Running is going awesome and I'm definitely ready for a race.  Marathon anyone?  OK, I won't start there.. maybe a 10K soon though, and we're already signed up for the VT 3.2 for 32.  The best part??  Yep, I just said "we."  Danny is running again!  This is a miracle and a huge answer to prayer.  Due to bilateral hernia surgery and a whole slew (sp?) of complications after it, he has not run in over two years since our first marathon in 2009.  He's easing back in and we couldn't be more excited.  For the 5K we're in the "stroller and wheelchair" division, so Addie will be along for the run, just like every day.  So fun!

- The "H" girls are descending this weekend for our annual reunion.  Since the last time we reunited, Dionne got married, I had a baby, 3 of the 6 are now pregnant, and 6 of the 6 are still awesome.  These are true friends who laugh together, cry together (even more so with all these crazy hormones going!), and share everything.  I cannot wait!!

last year.  classic cast, but minus Weslie!

Have a great weekend!!
