Being a rule follower, I dutifully led us to corral #6, which was titled "Wheelchairs and Strollers." When we noticed that we were the very LAST corral, behind all projected finish times and even behind the walkers, we should've changed gears and moved back toward the front, but the race was already underway. First, at the start line they released 32 white balloons. Then every racer released an orange or maroon balloon. Then, we were off!!
Eh, sorta.
It took us like, 10 minutes to even get off the Drillfield, and we spent the rest of the race starting and stopping, weaving slowly around people and biting more ankles than I can count with the stroller tires. Yay! Actually Danny told me ahead of time to have "low expectations" for how fast we could go, so I did and still had a ton of fun!
Addison enjoyed her little self (though was extra serious - raceday face I suppose) and everyone we passed loved shouting out to our little Hokie.
Our kind neighbor snapped this for us afterward. I hope we get to do LOTS of family races together in the future!
(And for those keeping tabs on Danny's health and running, he did AWESOME, and even pushed her the whole time. My running man is on the mend and making a comeback!)
you guys look great! what a fun experience! :)
