Really Really Ridiculously Nice People

So this post might be a little random... it has nothing to do with house projects or travel or baby... all of which seem to sum up my posts these days.  However, I'm lacking any other way to publicly acknowledge these people, and they do deserve a good thankin'.

Here's the deal: Lately I have been noticing a LOT of really nice people.  People who are way nicer than I am, probably, and who don't actually have to be.  It gets me excited and really motivates/challenges me in lots of different ways.  Like maybe I don't need to freak out when someone won't let me merge, or I could take 2 seconds to help someone load something in their car?  Just maybe?

Here's my Honor Roll of Really Really Ridiculously Nice People, in no particular order.  No photos for this one, since snapping a pic of these peeps would probably freak them out and/or label me as the town creeper.

Our parents.  Both sides have been so generous, whether it be for Addison or to help us work on our house.  It can be a little scary terrifying to live on one income, but God has provided in many ways - them being a big way.

On the same note: some friends of ours completely covered the bill for a recent (unexpected) house repair project.  We didn't even know they'd done it until the bill never showed up and we did some research.  Wow, what a sneaky blessing.

Millie at the post office.  If you live in my town, please don't ever go to the post office next to Kroger.  The attendants aren't the nicest, and it's kind of a running joke in town.  Dionne, you know what I'm talking about.  HOWEVER.  Downtown post office = sunshine and bluebirds, thanks to Millie.  This lady is so sweet.  She acts genuinely interested in everyone's story about what they're mailing - as if she cares about your cousin's birthday!  Last summer, pre-house purchase, she was so helpful with all the forwarding and mail-holding (it got confusing), and even gave an extra few weeks on our PO box (free!) when we needed an extension.

Chelle at Home Depot.  She knows us by name (we're there often enough...), and will even stop in the parking lot if we arrive while she's going on break to see if we need anything.  Legit.

Comcast Lady.  I don't know her name, but she is an angel.  One time, when I was setting up the internet for our new house, I was on the phone with the Comcast 800 number for over 2 hours, and kept tally marks of how many times I got transferred, disconnected, and had to start over.  My tally marks said I talked to 15 people.  I was also pregnant and emotional, and was sobbing by the end of the ordeal.  I went by the actual store and the issue was resolved in 2 minutes, thanks to my Angel Comcast Lady.  Yesterday, I went by with a bill question and she seriously hooked us up.  I'm assuming what she did is fine policy-wise, but wow - she did NOT have to go that extra mile.  This was while the line was out the door and she was just as kind and smiley as if it was just me in the waiting area.

Next door neighbors.  Last week, I was working on our extremely small but extremely out of control "yard" (10x5 space we have to maintain).  My neighbor came out and helped me clear the enormous pile of weeds, and loaned me their garden tools.  Oh, did I mention HE DID OUR TAXES FOR US - as a "welcome to the neighborhood" gift - back in April?   They are the sweetest neighbors ever.

Random couple on a walk.  Same project as above: I was hauling a wheelbarrow (is it wheelbarrow?  Or wheelbarrel?  I feel like I've said both?) full of mulch (HOA provides a common mulchpile for us to haul and use), holding Aslan's leash, and carrying Addie in the Ergo.  Yes, I was doing too much at once.  But the kindest couple who barely spoke English stopped me, motioned me away, and pushed the mulch all the way back to my house (not exactly close) in the blazing heat, even though they were terrified of Aslan.  Whaaa?

Thank you, Really Really Ridiculously Nice People.  You are a blessing to me, and probably to a lot of other people.

Know any nice people that deserve recognition?  Go on, give them a shout out.  It'll feel goooood.
