Out with it!

It's about time... sadly I haven't posted since I wrote about my trip to Paris!  Unacceptable, but this Spring has brought lots of change, crazy busyness, excitement, and stress.  Now that my last day of school is behind me (more on that later, or perhaps in another post), I hope to update a little more often.

So the big news is, that.. yep, we're really expecting!!!  We're now halfway there, 20 weeks!  There are still many days when I can't believe it.  We are extremely excited and feel so blessed that God is bringing this joy into our lives in October.  We had a few scares along the way with complications the first 10 days after we found out, leaving us on edge then, and then at 8 weeks, one day with lots of pain and other signals that triggered even my doctor to think that the pregnancy would not continue.  Ultimately, God is the Great Physician, and he protected our baby, who was totally healthy the entire time!  All of that brought Danny in I into complete awe over the process of God's gift of life and how fragile it is, and got us REALLY excited to meet her.

Yes, HER!  We just found out Friday that it's a GIRL!!  We are so thrilled.  Honestly, I had zero motherly intuition leading up to finding out, but EVERYONE was predicting that it'd be a boy, and I could definitely picture myself with a tow-headed athletic little guy, so I guess I just went along with it and figured they were right.  Wrong!  When the ultrasound tech told us, we both were like, "Are you sure??" but were so, so excited.  The more we've thought about her and all that little girls bring (still gonna be a little athlete!) it's gotten even more exciting.  Knowing that we can say "she" and "her" and even call her by her name has made it all seem more real.  Danny will be an amazing dad for a little girl, and I'm already trying to imagine how I'll keep her in line in a loving way when she's a teenager!

Like I said before, I'll try to write more frequently, updating on the pregnancy but also ALL the major, major changes and events that are happening in our lives apart from the baby.  I'll also post some pictures soon!
