How can it be?? This girl is six months old! The time continues to fly and updates are a-plenty. Here we go!
Dear Addison,
This has been the month of the belly laugh. You've been able to laugh for many months, but lately you've discovered that when something's funny, it's REALLY funny. You love silly sounds, faces, and games. If you're ever laughing in a different room than me, I can bet on the fact that Aslan is the cause.
Last month was your first taste of mobility, and this month you've practiced like crazy. You can still scoot backwards, but have really perfected the continuous roll (front-back, back-front), which gets you where you want to go much quicker and more efficiently. I'm really starting to see all the dangers around the house (sharp corners, steps, rock-hard kitchen floor...) as you roll around like a tumbleweed, caution to the wind. Watch out noggin, you're about to get some bumps!
Oddly, you've taken to doing baby sit-ups all the time. [That's SIT-up, not SPIT-up, though you're still proficient at that, too. ;)] It seems like you're not that content lying flat on your back anymore (what a lame view), so you'll either flip to your tummy or do repeated sit ups. Honestly you can do WAY more than I can. Waiting on baby six-pack to pop through...
...Which is a real possibility because you're still gaining weight pretty slowly. The general consensus seems that you're super healthy, not too skinny, but just taking your time with the poundage. I'm pumping you with food all the time (same amount of milk plus lots of solids), soo I'm letting this one go and chalking it up to extra activity and a quick metabolism.

Feeding you solid food has gone well this month. Some days you're more interested than others, but so far you've had: oatmeal, sweet potato, avocado, broccoli, banana, carrots, brown rice, and combinations of those. Faves so far are avocado and ground oats mixed with bananas; broccoli is at the bottom of your request list. You've also started drinking a little water from a cup, which is funny to watch for me and endless entertainment for you.

Napping was soo last month. This month had some rough patches, mostly for me since I've not quite caught up to the new schedule you decided on (without asking permission!). For about 3 weeks, naps were much shorter and multiple times you'd just lay in your crib, talking and rolling the whole hour. However, even with LESS daytime sleep, you were still happy, energetic, and giggly, so mom's gonna try and relax a bit. The past couple of days have been back to normal, so hopefully it was just a phase. :)

Night sleep has gotten great. You're now going down easily between 6 and 7pm and only waking once to eat around 3am. I know by this age plenty of babies are sleeping through the night completely, but I can handle this schedule!! You're happily awake at 7am raring to GO! Note: last night, you slept. through. the. night. Like, 12 hours. As in, you didn't wake up and I didn't get out of bed. In other words, I'm in shock. Not expecting this as the regular but, wow. What a gift!!
What will this next month hold??? Every month I say this, but I wish I could just bottle you up at this stage and keep you like this forever. Right now I love: The way you grab our faces and squeal and give huge kisses, how you laugh out loud when I come home from being gone, how you light up when you see familiar faces, how you smile with your entire body, hearing you say "baba" and "dada" all day long, the way you inspect everything so carefully with your little fingers, watching you interact with dad, conversations on our morning runs, and your facial expressions when you try new foods.
