Top 10 things I don't want to forget
This week (May 7) was Addison's half birthday! Happy 18 months to her!! This month's actual update will be a little different, because her daddy has requested to write it! I am so very excited and can't wait to post it!
Even though I'm not doing a full 18 month update, I couldn't resist the chance to share a few things about the #1 girl in my life right now. Time is fleeting, guys. None of these are particularly "amazing" or anything like that, but I usually see something at least once a day that I think, "gosh I really don't want to forget that." So I bring you:
Top 10 things I really really REALLY don't want to forget about this age (in no particular order):
1. Her awkward toddler "cheese" face whenever I tell her to smile for the camera.
2. Laughing hysterically together as she figured out how to blow raspberries on me in a REALLY ticklish way. I have often laughed at things she does, and she laughs all the time when we do funny things, but this was the first time I felt like she was really trying to make me laugh, and getting a huge kick out of it. We were just two girls cutting up with a serious case of the giggles.
3. Hearing her squeal, run, and belly laugh upstairs every day with Danny when he gets home from work and I'm finishing up making dinner. And pretty much any interaction between those two.
4. The way she folds under her arms and wriggles her whole body to get a little closer as I sing her goodnight song and carry her to bed.
5. Getting to watch her language unfold day by day. As a foreign language teacher it is absolutely fascinating to have a front-row, constant seat to the development of a little person's first language. She is now using 200 words, and is stringing related words together in a comical way, like "car beep beep car go!"
6. How she reacted to corn on the cob for the first time.
7. Seeing her eat, and even enjoy it sometimes. (thank you Zantac!!)
8. The way she plays alone with a constant stream of self-conversation when I'm cooking or otherwise occupied.
9. Pillow fights with Aslan - you'll never hear her laugh so hard.
10. The way she loves her friends, and is so openly affectionate with them (this is in honor of her friend Piper, who moved away THIS MORNING. ughhh. stop moving away, friends!!!)
So there it is, my top 10 of things I really really REALLY don't want to forget about my awesome 18 month old. I can hear Letterman calling me now....
