I am just beside myself. I can hardly type because I could burst. Today was simply an amazing day. It was also the most baby-filled day I've had since we learned about little Addie back in February.
First on the list today was a quick-but-awesome photo shoot with the very talented Mary. She graciously agreed to do some maternity/family shots for us, so we all headed to campus and tried to snap some not-awkward pictures - that was rule number one! Rule number two was not too many shots where I'm turning back toward the camera... I just can't seem to make that angle look good, ever! Thankfully today I wasn't feeling too self-conscious about my size (I know, I know! I'm pregnant! What is there to be self-conscious about? But add 25 pounds to anyone and they'll occasionally feel a little strange about it. I can't be alone in this), so we just had a good time, and Danny and Aslan were both great sports about it. Here are a few
Next, Danny and I spent several hours on house/nursery projects. Since I'm not exactly supposed to breathe paint fumes, he spent most of the time painting, while I did other organizing and cleaning around the house - still a mess from the move, and yes, I will post on that one day. Admittedly, I eventually donned a mask because I just could not resist helping, and rolled for a while. (Don't tell my doctor or anyone who's extra careful about these things!) After coat #1, I am THRILLED with the color!! Can't wait to finish it up and start moving her things into place when it's done. Danny worked so hard and I officially award him Best Dad award. [Update since I wrote this - nursery is almost done, and I'll make a post on it with pictures this week!]
Lastly, this evening I was supposed to lead Bible study with four of my former students (we meet Sunday nights, usually at my house). On Friday they asked if we could switch the location to one of their houses because of a complicated soccer game schedule. Of course I obliged, and Danny was going elsewhere to study anyway tonight, so me being out of the house was no big deal. I pulled up at 7:15, and they were all waiting for me on the porch. As we went inside, I suddenly heard a thundering of feet and bodies, followed by a huge scream of SURPRISE!!!

I've said it before, but it's official: I literally have taught the most special group of students, ever. I will never forget tonight or these sweet young people. Addie is so lucky to have all these built-in big brothers and sisters waiting for her!
M,
ReplyDeleteYou are so beautiful and gracious. I love being your friend.
