Weekend friends

This past weekend was really wonderful.

First on Friday night, we had a great time with friends in town having dinner, talking about our kids (only topic these days), and playing games.  I'm really sad I didn't take any pictures, because these friends are leaving us in 3 short months.  I don't even wanna think about it. (so I don't.. this should go well once reality hits.)

Then Saturday, our great friends, John and Sam (and baby K on-the-way) and Mike came to visit (we missed Mike's wife and daughter!).  Since we're on the brink of Spring break here, Danny and I both had far fewer obligations or stress to keep us down this weekend.  In Danny's words: "Wow. I have to work all week next week, but it feels like I'm on vacation."  Signs of a full schedule.  Daddy Danny also enjoyed extra time with his girl.

Anyway, it was just awesome to see them.  These are the kinds of friends that really, you just laugh with the whole time.  We didn't have an agenda, but just enjoyed each other's company, heard hilarious stories about John and Sam's recent trip to Taiwan, and ate so. much. food.  Addie also had a fabulous time, laughing, squealing, and talking the whole time.  She even napped wonderfully!! (no small accomplishment in this house)

isn't she adorable??

At one point, as we were making dinner, I exclaimed, "Oh no Mike!  We didn't have you come here just to cook the whole time!" To which Sam responded, "Yeah we did, keep going."  Haha.  Mike IS a great cook, so we definitely reaped the benefits.

these are deadly. eat at your own risk.

a funny story about their trip...
Sunday we continued the foodfest at our favorite local breakfast spot.  It's funny having a baby now with friends in town, because we were always at the mercy of her schedule to plan and do things outside of the house.  Thankfully everyone was super flexible and we got out between naps.  Addie loved every second of the extra attention.

Uncle John and Uncle Mike (ignore her bare feet.. i'm sure both socks were under the table at this point.
socks are a challenge OK?)

there we go!
The boys also helped install a brand new sink in our half bath (pictures to come!), which is step one in giving that bath a facelift.  It looks beautiful and they did an amazing job, which has also sparked my motivation to get moving on at least a few of the many needed house projects around la Casa Blanca.

Worst part was sending them home.  We'd love to get everyone (permanently) in the SAME PLACE one day.
