Hello 3rd trimester, you're here! I'm now 27.5 weeks, and couldn't feel better. I love being pregnant! (I may need to look back on this statement one day soon for encouragement...)
Generally I feel...
My mom described her pregnancy with me - and specifically the 3rd trimester - as "downright euphoric." I have to say, I feel pretty much the same way to date (well-aware there are many miles left to go before this journey is over!). The past 2 days I felt tired and groggy all day, wanting a nap by like, 11:00am (that's sad!). I'll blame running and mowing 2-3 lawns all before 10:30 in the morning. Thankfully today I'm back to feeling 100% (maybe like 110%!) Sure, there are a few aches here, getting out of breath climbing the stairs there, but I cannot say how thankful I am for such a healthy, EASY pregnancy so far.
Running...
Yep, still running, usually 5 days a week for 30-40 minutes and swimming the 6th, taking the 7th for rest. Actually not much different than my pre-pregnancy schedule, minus the long Saturday run and of course, any semblance of speed. Last weekend I even ran for over an hour out at Pandapas (with only THREE stops for the bathroom... sheesh).
Baby Addison...
Like her mom, is really active, perhaps hyperactive? Who knows. This is my first go at hosting a baby so this all is probably normal-level stuff, but this girl kicks, flips, hiccups, and moves like a champ. It's so much fun to be along for the ride!
Nursery?
Haha, noo. Mom and Dad (and Aslan of course) need a permanent place to live before Baby A gets hers. Still, we are SO excited and SO thankful to have a lot of the "big items" ready to go whenever we do figure out where we (and she) will be. Included on our already-got-it list are...
1) A bea-u-ti-ful crib. (A HUGE gift from Danny's parents, and an amazing consignment store find in Florida... score!) It looks like this, though right now is disassembled and wrapped/cellophaned enough to survive a nuclear attack:
2) Two dressers (Both free hand-me-downs. Need a little paint and love but very cute!)
3) Pack-N-Play (Another free hand-me-down from friends)
4) Car seat (passed along by Cindi, who got it super cheap from a friend. OK.. this doesn't go in the nursery)
5) Changing table (amazing Craigslist find)
6) Rocker/glider and ottoman (literally in perfect condition, from the same Craigslist find as the changing table. Danny and I felt guilty driving away since we paid so little)
7) And of course, this fashionista already has tons of adorable outfits, both second-hand and brand new... my favorite to date are these little Vans, purchased by Danny's mom in his honor:
This guy is going to be one fantastic dad. He talks to Addie, talks about her, and prays for her. I just can't wait to see them together, it's going to be some pair!

aren't baby shoes the best?
ReplyDeleteLuke is sleeping in this Fisher Price Hammock, http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Newborn-Rock-Sleeper-Yellow/dp/B002M77N22
ReplyDeleteA friend gave it to us and it is a lifesaver, especially if you have a baby with spit-up issues like Luke has. I can lay him in it and know that he won"t choke on his spit-up like he would laying down in his bassinet.
