10 points to whoever can guess what's happening in this sequence:
Disclaimer: No toddlers OR husbands were (seriously) harmed in this reenactment (or in the original scene).
The amazing thing about kids is how quickly they can go from perfectly fine and happy to IS SHE STILL BREATHING?!?
We have managed to get past the Extreme Parent Reaction when she falls down (approximately 100 times per hour makes it lose its dramatic effect anyway). It also helps that Addie is taking side lessons from the School for Tough Guys, and rarely cries even after a hard fall or face-smack. Still, some falls can be pretty scary, and the other night was one of those. Danny was playing with her on the couch, literally one foot away. As I looked on from the kitchen, she was suddenly flying through the air, limbs and head catching furniture on the way, and finally down onto her face. Danny graciously reenacted later that evening, which brings us the collage above.
OK, so for this one she did cry a bit, but thankfully, not even a bruise to show for it and within about 60 seconds she was back to shoving us forcefully toward the books and signing BOOK BOOK like her life depended on reading Pajama Time!, again. If only I were so resilient (or book-crazy) in my own life...
| this is unrelated but it's sweet. so i'm including it. |

glad I'm not the only one with a bruise-covered toddler :)
ReplyDeleteO my goodness- I BUSTED out laughing at the recap of Danny's fall! Glad sweet Addie is ok and thank you for entertaining us with this post! Amazing how resilient kiddos are!
ReplyDeletehaha, great reenactment. it must have been awful to see, especially from across the room. LOVE the photo of danny and addie watching the snow. so sweet!
ReplyDeleteGrace just bonked her head three times in the same place this morning. I am feeling your angst on this one! Danny really should get an academy award for his reenactment.
ReplyDeleteWe also LOVE Pajama Time! But my favorite is Moo Baa La La La. Love Sandra Boynton!
